SEOULbaccarat888, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Five domestic and foreign automakers in South Korea will voluntarily recall some 156,700 vehicles for manufacturing defects, the transport ministry said Thursday.
Kia Corp. will recall 139,478 units of Sorento sport utility vehicle (SUV) for poor durability of the hydraulic electronic control unit (HECU) that poses a fire risk, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The defective manufacturing of propeller shaft prompted a recall involving 8,802 units of eight models from Nissan Korea, including Q50 2.2d.
Hyundai Motor will recall 2,887 units of two models for poor durability of insulator and 2,782 units of GV70 due to faulty engine ignition connection bolts.
Porsche Korea will repair an error in the lane-keeping function in 2,054 units of 17 different models, including 911 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet.
Toyota Motor Korea will take a corrective action on 737 units of three models, including Prius 2WD, due to defective rear door external handle.
Vehicle owners can visit repair and service centers to replace the faulty parts free of charge.■
